Bilateral renal agenesis/hypoplasia associated with oligohydramnios and major intrauterine growth restriction: Prenatal ultrasound study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Bilateral renal agenesis/hypoplasia/dysplasia is a lethal malformation in humans with an incidence of 1.3 per 10,000 live births. In the etiology bilateral agenesis/hypoplasia/dysplasia, genetic factor plays important role. addition to factors, also involves teratogenic effect hyperglycemia on embryo mothers insulin-dependent maternal diabetes. The purpose this paper present special case which was successfully diagnosed prenatally by ultrasonography, confirmed and managed appropriately, so as limit serious, congenital malformations.

Maternal factors associated with intrauterine growth restriction.

BACKGROUND Intrauterine growth restriction is a major neonatal health issue. Maternal factors have been found to have greater impact on IUGR. Studying these factors can help in reducing the mortality and morbidity associated with IUGR. METHODS This case-control study was conducted at the department of Paediatrics Post-graduate medical institute Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar from March 2008-A...

Prenatal programming of insulin secretion in intrauterine growth restriction.

Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) impairs insulin secretion in humans and in animal models of IUGR. Several underlying mechanisms have been implicated, including decreased expression of molecular regulators of β-cell mass and function, in some cases shown to be due to epigenetic changes initiated by an adverse fetal environment. Alterations in cell cycle progression contribute to loss of β...

Intrauterine growth restriction in rats is associated with hypertension and renal dysfunction in adulthood.

Epidemiological studies have produced evidence that unfavorable intrauterine environments during fetal life may lead to adverse outcomes in adulthood. We have previously shown that a low-sodium diet, given to pregnant rats over the last week of gestation, results in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). We hypothesize that pups born with IUGR are more susceptible to the development of hyperte...

Heparin successfully improved an early onset intrauterine growth restriction accompanied by severe oligohydramnios

Oligohydramnios is an ominous pregnant complication with high perinatal morbidity and mortality of 80%-90%, if it was observed in second trimester. However, there is no promising modality to cure it at that period. In this case, heparin therapy was successful in an early onset extreme oligohydramnios.

Intrauterine Growth Restriction Associated with Excessively Long Umbilical Cord

We present a 37-week female baby, known with intrauterine growth restriction since 25 weeks of pregnancy, born with a placenta with an excessive long umbilical cord (ELUC), without any other abnormalities. ELUC is mostly an incidental finding after delivery, but represents a potentially detectable intrauterine cause of growth restriction. A system that allows ultrasound measurement of the lengt...
